Stainless steel is alloy steel containing chromium or nickel, titanium and other elements, with smooth hard, corrosion resistance and stainless characteristics. WS/T367-2012 "medical institutions disinfection technical specifications" pointed out: the surface of the object disinfection, should consider the surface properties. Smooth surfaces should be wiped with a suitable disinfectant or irradiated with a UV sterilizer at close range. The selection and use of chemical disinfectants need to be based on the product instructions, taking into account the material of the disinfected items, the number and type of microorganisms present, and the environmental surface organic pollution status (I. e., the degree of dirt).
For low-risk items made of stainless steel, there are many types of disinfectants to choose from, such as 75% ethanol, sodium hypochlorite, quaternary ammonium salts, phenolic aldehydes, iodophors, etc.
